We’re here in West Chester PA about to play a show for St. Patrick’s day as a result of the events that occurred last night portrayed in the video above. Shameless? Absolutely. Fun? You know it. Thanks West Chester for showing us a good time!
TNTrio is hitting the road today at 4 pm, officially kicking off our Spring Break Tour. Two cars, 6 people (can I say roadies?), 5 cities, and a 1,ooo miles to cover. Check in with us frequently at our twitter and facebook accounts! We will be updating and blogging as frequently as possible. Do you live somewhere on the East Coast? Then there’s a good chance we will be playing/partying in a town near you. Link up with us! The facebook event has the major details for the trip.
Wish us luck and maybe we’ll see some of you on the road!
Props to Justin. Not only does he play a mean guitar (awesome jamming with you man) but he also has an impeccable fashion sense. No shirts yet? Not stopping him. He made his own.
Reminder, free t-shirt if you can top this photo! Get your sticker, put it somewhere awesome, and send us a pic to enter!
TNTrio now has stickers! If you want some, hit us up at TNTrioLive(at)gmail-dot-com or feel free to message us on our myspace or facebook.
Free t-shirt for most creative placement of a tntrio sticker. (Did you say t-shirts? Yes. Yes I did. T-shirts are on their way!) Send us a photo to enter!
It was a monday evening. We walked into the practice room brimming with energy and ready to work on some music. As I walked over to the powered mixer to turn it on, I noticed that it was unplugged. Odd. I untangled the cord and leaned over to plug it into the power strip when the end of the plug caught my eye. It was broken. One of the prongs was broken off and still stuck in the outlet. No amplification. No mic. No practice? The thought of not having a practice space for a while was almost too much to bear. Tom almost started trashing the room right then and there when Neil cooly put his hand on his shoulder and said “Its ok man. Its going to be ok.”
We ended up practicing anyways. Neil used his rods instead of sticks and Tom played the keyboard just using the internal speakers, which were louder than expected. I had to rap pretty loudly for them to hear me, but it worked. We actually ended up enjoying the lower decibel level. Easier on the ears, easier for us to hear ourselves and each other. Plus, the whole session had this organic cipher vibe, especially since I wasn’t going through a mic. From now on until the powered mixer gets fixed or replaced, TNTrio will be practicing “unplugged.”
Mad props to vocalist Vanessa Cancino for her stellar guest appearance with us at the Red & Black the other night. She tore it up! Expect to see her on stage with us again in the future (and maybe on a recording or two?), and if you missed it, stay posted on upcoming shows! You never know when there might be a guest appearance…
Band Day. For TNTrio Band Day is Saturday. We take turns making breakfast for each other every Saturday morning (or afternoon, depending on Friday night’s festivities). Neil makes a mean double-egg and cheese on English muffins sandwich. Tom’s specialty is cheesy omelettes. Tony makes spicy eggs and jalapeno sausage (from TJ’s of course). We eat our fill, let the hangovers subside, trade music videos and songs, and just kick it for a while. After we digest a bit, we go straight to the practice rooms. There’s something intangible about this process that makes for the most creative, fun, productive practices EVER (the only other times that come close are when we sneak in bottles of Captain and Coke… but then we forget things…). Thanks Questlove for the best tip we have heard yet as a band.
Here’s the deal. We’ve mixed down the tracks we want to use from GW Live, but between problems with the recordings, performance, and (sigh) copyright issues, only a few have made the cut to go on our demo. We are waiting to get them produced because we haven’t been paid for several shows from last semester (working on that), and since we have just a few tracks we want to put out from GW Live, we are planning on getting in the studio ASAP to cut a few more tracks. We believe this will round out our demo and make it the listening experience that we want it to be, and as the money comes in, we will be mastering and pressing it so that everyone who wants one can get a copy.
We are working really hard to create a product that we can be proud of and that you can all enjoy, and we do not want to settle for a sub-par product. For those of you who have been waiting for some tracks, feel free to email us at TNTrioLive(at)gmail.com and we will send you a song for free via email.
Thanks again for all of your support. The other night at the Red & Black we had a great time and we cannot wait to be able to hand out copies of our demo at the next big show. We wouldn’t be doing this without you.
